A clarification on my views on insurrection
From Random Hipatia
Some have misinterpreted my recent activities and seem to have come to believe I am actively engaged in some form of insurrection against the U.S. government, so I thought I would take a moment to clarify my views on insurrection anarchism.
First, I honestly do understand and appreciate the reality of the insurrection anarchist, and why some have felt and found it necessary to take that path. Some are friends, and some I know had come from a background deeply committed to peaceful change, and yet now feel that path is no longer tenable given the present reality in North America, and that to refuse the option of defense through any means necessary is to accept and in effect participate in the continued human, social, and natural destruction by the state and private interests. I simply state I understand their reality, and their choice.
Personally, I do remain very skeptical that more successful outcomes are possible through insurrection alone, at least at this time. Indeed, far too often, other forms of negative outcomes happen even when insurrection is successful, and I do not believe in or desire the use of violence. However, I understand why some feel they need to do this, especially now. I simply state that I do understand their reality and I no longer choose to publicly or privately object to their choice in these times as I had done so in the past.
For those curious, I have kept myself busy in recent times not in some secret guerrilla or active insurrection activity as it appears some here believe, but rather in simply supporting the Lakota in their effort to secure their sovereign rights through peaceful means.
