The Zimmermann Telegram of our times

In reading the Michael Steere memo, brilliantly obtained by the Venezuelans, I am struck with two interesting parallels with that of the similarly famous “Zimmermann Telegram” from WW I.

In both these memos, the ambitions of a thuggish government are laid bare in a way all can clearly see. Indeed, the greatest threat to peace, security, and human development in the world today is not some ex-cia operatives hiding in Pakistan, but rather the present U.S. government, and it’s thugs operating through the cover of embassy’s with the intention of fomenting violence against other nations to impose it’s rule and bloody puppet dictators, like the generals who once ruled Argentina, Pinochet of Chile, or the thugs of Guatemala, just to name a few.

Of course, I was not at all surprised about the CIA funneling $8 million over the past month through USAID to Globovision. After all, they had been giving Globovision CIA intercepts of Chavez’s private calls to Castro to broadcast previously during the presidential elections. Still, what is pathetic is for how little Alberto Ravell would sell out his own nation to these CIA thugs and terrorists. Or maybe the CIA promised he would be made the new U.S. puppet?

The plan of using direct U.S. military intervention, from bases in Columbia and Curacao is perhaps the most chilling part of all. It is not as if the U.S. military does not have enough civilian blood on their hands to date. This is what we can properly call “state” terrorism. It perhaps is also the reason behind Venezuela suddenly breaking diplomatic relations with Columbia.

The second thing that strikes me in both the Zimmermann Telegram and this latest memo, written by a thug working for thugs who bring shame to this country and operate as terrorists against others, is how just unlikely to succeed these plans are, and how detached they are from the reality on the ground. I do not claim to be an expert on Venezuela, but even I can see how ludicrous this whole plan is, in much the way the plan laid out in Zimmerman telegram was ludicrous, and yet, both laid bare the actual intent of the respective nations, which makes this memo all the more remarkable.
